
Linda M. Graham, M.D.
Linda M. Graham M.D. is a Vascular Surgeon at the Cleveland Clinic, Vice Chair of the Department of Vascular Surgery, and Assistant Dean for Research Education for the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). She served as Interim Chair of the Biomedical Engineering Department in the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute from 2001-2002 and 2008-2011.
Dr. Graham received her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor. She completed her General Surgery training at the University of Michigan Medical Center and her Vascular Surgery training at Northwestern University. She was on the faculty at the University of Michigan where she attained the rank of Professor of Surgery. She was also a tenured Professor of Surgery at CWRU where she served as Chief of Surgery at the Cleveland Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center and Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery at CWRU.
In addition to her practice in Vascular Surgery, Dr. Graham has maintained an active research laboratory focusing on vascular wall biology relevant to the healing of arterial injuries and vascular grafts. She has had uninterrupted NIH funding for her laboratory for more than 20 years. Currently, she has two NIH-funded projects, one addressing the mechanisms by which oxidized lipids inhibit endothelial cell movement and the other studying the post-transcriptional regulation of collagen production. She has published over 100 journal articles and book chapters.
Dr. Graham is a member of 10 scientific societies including the Society for Vascular Surgery, the American Surgical Association, and the Society of University Surgeons of which she served as president in 1994-1995. She has served on the editorial board of the Journal of Vascular Surgery and on study sections for the American Heart Association and the Doris Duke Foundation. She has served on and chaired study sections at the NIH, and the VA and chaired the national VA Medical Research Planning Council for 3 years.
